13th AIFS Conference, 30 July - 1 August 2014.
Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, Melbourne

The key focus of the 13th Australian Institute of Family Studies Conference 2014 is on families in a rapidly changing world.

The event coincides with the 20th Anniversary of the Year of the Family, and to mark the anniversary the conference will showcase cutting-edge research on topical issues relating to how families are adjusting to a rapidly changing world. It will outline key policy priorities for advancing the wellbeing of Australian families and draw on the expertise and perspectives of a diverse range of specialists from around Australia and across the world.

The AIFS conference provides a valuable opportunity for government policy-makers, service providers and practitioners, researchers and community organisations to meet and exchange ideas and knowledge.

Excellent keynote speakers headline this year’s program:
• Mr Trevor Huddleston CBE, Chief Analyst and Director of Analytical Services Directorate, Department for Work and Pensions, U.K.
• Emeritus Professor Dorothy Scott OAM, Director, Bracton Consulting Services Pty Ltd, Inaugural Director of the Australian Centre for Child Protection, University of South Australia
• Professor Paul Amato, Arnold and Bette Hoffman Professor of Family Sociology and Demography, The Pennsylvania State University, U.S.A

The program also features three expert panel sessions and more than 140 presentations on a broad range of issues relating to families.

The conference promises to be a high-calibre, professionally stimulating and enjoyable event.
